Stepanavan
Stepanavan is a small town in northern Armenia that most people drive past on the way to somewhere else. That's a mistake.
Social package stays in Stepanavan aren't about luxury or entertainment. People come here for the forest — literally on the edge of town — and for air that feels genuinely different from anything you breathe in Yerevan. It's about two and a half hours from the capital. The last stretch of road, after Vanadzor, is where the landscape starts to shift. Denser, darker green. By the time you arrive, it's obvious why people make the trip.
Social package deals in Stepanavan typically cover accommodation and meals, sometimes a sauna or an outdoor rest area. Don't expect a spa complex. What you get instead is something smaller and more honest — clean rooms, family-run atmosphere, staff that actually knows the place. Good for kids especially. Space to run around, nature right there, no stress.
The dendrology park is not optional. One of the largest in Armenia, and genuinely worth the morning. Walk it before breakfast, come back, eat — that alone justifies the journey. Trees you won't see anywhere else, quiet paths, nobody rushing you.
Summer is the obvious choice. Spring and autumn are quieter but still good. Winter brings snow and a particular kind of stillness — some people come specifically for that.
Options for social packages in Stepanavan are limited compared to bigger resorts. Book early, especially for summer. It fills up faster than you'd expect for a town this size.
