It’s normal, let’s talk about tour packages. Many people think that the RA social package is only for sanatoriums and hotels. Actually, that’s not true. Within the social package, tour packages are also available, and this is a real opportunity for those who love travelling around Armenia.

What is a tour package in the logic of the social package? It is not just one night in a hotel, but a programme that includes transfer, excursions, accompanying services, and sometimes meals. For example, you can take a two‑day package to Dilijan: a minibus trip, a walking tour to Jukhtak Monastery, an overnight stay in a hotel, and a dinner of local cuisine. All of this as one package that can be paid for using the social package.

Which organisations offer such packages? In Armenia, there are already several tour operators that have signed contracts with social package operators (Arka, Kamurj, and others). They offer both one‑day and multi‑day tour packages. The list of destinations is quite wide: Dilijan, Jermuk, Gyumri, Tatev, Sevan, Goshavank, as well as combined tours through Southern Armenia.

Why is this a good option? First, you get a complete ready‑made programme without having to think about where to stay, what to see, or how to get there. Second, a tour package often costs less than buying the same services separately. Third, when you pay with the social package, your money doesn’t get wasted — it works for you: you rest and travel without spending extra from your own pocket (except for alcohol or some additional services).

How do you arrange it? The same as with a regular hotel. Choose a tour operator that works with the social package, look at the list of packages, call them, confirm that the dates are available, and make a booking. Then enter your details on the social package platform, and the service is considered paid. Just keep the receipt or confirmation.

One important nuance: the tour package must include a genuine tourism service, not just a “reimbursement of transport costs”. In other words, you cannot simply pay a taxi driver using the social package, but you can pay a travel agency that provides guiding, information services and accommodation.

Also remember that not all tour operators work with the social package. So before you get excited, check the contract or give them a call. But if you find the right company, then tour packages become an accessible and convenient way to discover Armenia.

To sum up: it’s normal. Tour packages within the RA social package are possible, they work, and people are already using them. Don’t limit yourself to just a hotel. If you want to see the corners of Armenia — look for tour packages, book them, go and enjoy.
